New headteacher for Arabian Ranches primary

As the end of term approaches, we will be saying a very fond farewell to Mr. Darren Coulson who has led Arabian Ranches Primary for 9 years and has been at JESS for 22 years!
Luckily, his replacement is an equally familiar face at JESS, having been a Deputy Head Teacher at JESS Jumeirah for 5 years and teaching for over 20 years – we welcome Mr. Jose Diez as the new Headteacher for Arabian Ranches Primary when teh new term starts in August 2021.
As Mr. Shane O’Brien Director of JESS explains, “I am delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. Jose Diez as the new Head of Primary at Arabian Ranches from September 2021, taking over from Mr. Darren Coulson who, after 22 years of service to JESS, is moving on to take up the post of Principal at Sharjah English School.
Mr. Diez will move to the Ranches from JESS Jumeirah where he has been Deputy Headteacher for the past five years. He has won the position ahead of a very strong field of candidates from both within Dubai and internationally, many of whom are already Headteachers of very good schools. It has been very reassuring that following a very rigorous interview process we have the confidence in our own staff to be able to make such a significant appointment from within.
“I am absolutely thrilled to be offered this role”, commented Jose, “JESS is an incredible learning environment and I want to build on Darren’s success and bring the opportunity for staff and children to further challenge themselves. I want to equip them with the tools to be able to reflect and grow, be that the environment or the resources. Ultimately we owe this to the children – they deserve people that want the best for themselves to enable our diverse students to grow and experience success in their own unique ways.”
Jose takes up his post from 23 August 2021.
