University and Careers

Almost all students at JESS expect to continue their education at university. In the constantly shifting and unpredictable climate of higher education, we are proud of our record of supporting students in securing outstanding university offers. Most of our students choose top universities in the UK, Europe and the United States, including Oxbridge, the Ivy League, other Russell Group universities, medical schools and many other high-ranking institutions globally.

A small number of our students prefer to take alternate pathways to linear university progression, including gap years, paid employment and internships.

Our University guidance team support our Sixth Form students in deciding their next steps after graduating from JESS.  The counsellors work closely with students on their university and course choices and are vital in the construction of the personal statement and college essays, as well as writing university references.

Throughout Year 12 and Year 13 our students are exposed to a range of workshops, lectures and seminars covering all aspects of university life and have the opportunity to meet with representatives from different universities to gain their valuable insights and advice.

We have every confidence that all our students develop the knowledge and understanding required to ensure that the next step in their educational careers is perfectly matched to both their competencies and their preferred pathway.
